Christian Community Action

Christian Community Action (CCA) expresses faithful witness by providing help, housing and hope to families in need in New Haven.  CCA serves families experiencing homelessness by providing apartment style emergency shelter and the Moving to Work Housing Program.   CCA also provides other emergency needs such as food, diapers, and assistance with utilities to people in the community.  With its ARISE (Accessing Resources for Independence, Skill building and Employment) Center, CCA goes beyond emergency help and incorporates a two-generational approach with families to help them on their journey to independence.   The organization also engages in advocacy through its Advocacy and Education Project, incorporating data and people’s stories to change systems that perpetuate poverty and injustice.

The Fellow assist ARISE  staff with helping residents and community members access child care and employment.
