Event Description:

The Open Labs at Yale is inviting you to attend a virtual Super Science Showdown! It’s a series of fun, online events in the month of May, featuring exciting science demonstrations and the chance to judge scientists presenting their research. If you attend any 3 of the 4 events, you will receive a Certificate of Participation! For information on the other three sessions:  Session 1, Session 2, Session 3

Session 4 (May 31):  Who makes the rules in Science and Technology? - Have you ever wondered who ensures that our food packaging or local rivers are free of harmful chemicals? Who decides what kind of science research deserves government funding? We’re excited to hear from REAL LIFE SCIENTISTS who are in charge of working with the local state and federal government to apply science and improve our everyday lives! We’ll also have Justin Elicker, the Mayor of New Haven, speak about how some of these decisions are made locally!

Open to students in Grades 6-8.
