Location:
Bass Center, Room 405 See map

Event Description:

How can we use science to “build” a heart? How can we make proteins glow inside cells? How can we reconstruct images to tell us about micromachines? Hear scientists across biology, physics, and engineering talk about the exciting research they are conducting in the laboratory, and work together with your peers on a variety of activities that bring science to the classroom. The topics we will explore are: Cluster Computing; Making Nanoparticles; Fluorescence: Glowing in Science; The Use of Engineered Proteins that Glow; Building a Functional Heart; and Seeing Proteins Through an Electron Microscope. You will also have the opportunity to have lunch with the scientists.
