Interested in learning to ask and answer an experimental question? The Discover Immunology Program offers a two-week, four-session after-school course where students will explore the important phagocytic, or viral and bacteria-eating, properties of an important cell type in our bodies, macrophages. You will get the chance to answer an experimental question about the process of phagocytosis with hands-on experiments and will learn how to design and execute experiment band interpret results. Throughout this course, you will learn culturing techniques, phagocytosis assays, fluorescent microscopy, and more! The goal for this program is to gain experience in navigating an experimental question, and you will work in pairs to tackle your own experiment!
