Event Time:
Tuesday, June 16, 2020 - 5:00pm
Location:
Zoom instructions will be sent to those who register. See map
Event Description:

Discover the answers to your science questions with engineering researchers from Yale and elsewhere! In this weekly Webinar hosted by the Yale Graduate Student Women Engineers, we will explore different areas of science, including environmental engineering, biomedical engineering and physics. We’ll also share why we each decided to pursue STEM. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions about the science or our pathway to science.

On June 16, we will hear from two scientists, Laura Morales and Jessica Shaklee. Laura is a Biomedical Engineer who studies how white blood cells change as they move through living tissue. By using a special biomaterial to mimic human tissue, Laura can identify the various cells that migrate!  Jessica is a cellular and molecular physiology student, studying the effects of thyroid hormone on obesity.  She will share the techniques used to understand how hormones work on the human body!

Open to Grades 7-12. Note: videos of attendees are not part of this webinar format. Registration is required here. You will get a unique zoom link for the event upon registration.
