Open to rising high school juniors and seniors!

Yale’s Program in Physics, Engineering, and Biology and the School of Engineering and Applied Science will offer research opportunities for high school students in areas at the interface of physics and biology. Projects include experimental and computational studies of the development of mesophyll tissue in leaves and flowers, the development of the tailbud in zebrafish embryos, and tumor cell invasion into breast tissue. In addition to research, the students will participate in career development opportunities such as STEM career workshops, help sessions for oral and poster presentations, and one-on-one mentoring by junior scientists. There are also other opportunities at labs across the country! 

Program Dates: June 13, 2022 - August 5, 2022

Eligibility:

  • Must be a rising high school junior or senior
  • Must be at least 16 years old at the start of the program
  • Must be a US citizen or permanent legal resident
  • Provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination 
  • Computer programming experience
  • For commuting students only (program does not supply allowance for housing, meals, or travel)
