Application Open for Yale Pathways Visual Arts Summer Program (on campus!)

Event Time:
Monday, April 11, 2022 - 4:15pm
Event Description:

Join us this summer for 2 weeks of visual arts learning on campus.

Application Due April 29th

Yale Pathways to Arts & Humanities and the Yale School of Art will host their first summer arts high school program on campus! Apply now for this free, two-week, on-campus program where you will explore and make visual art in Yale’s art studios, visit the many arts and humanities resources on campus, and eat in the Yale dining halls.

This summer’s core workshop, Painting Brought to Light: Exploring Color Theory,  is a playful exploration into color as a physical phenomenon. Why do we see green blurry clouds after staring too long at a red light? Or after squeezing our eyes tightly shut? Studying color opens our perception to the world of sensations all around. Over the course of this workshop, we will observe how colors interact and our perceptions change. We will then mix our own colors and paint! No prior art experience necessary. Apply now!

PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY

  • Must be a New Haven or West Haven Public School student currently in Grade 9, 10 or 11.
  • Must apply by Friday, April 29th
  • No prior experience required!
