In-Person
Anesthesiology Day 2026
This event has passed.
The Department of Anesthesiology at Yale invites you to our FOURTH annual anesthesia workshop! You will learn how anesthesiologists keep patients safe during surgery, how we literally “take your breath away” at the start of the surgery, and have you “breathe again” at the end. Plus, you’ll get hands-on experience with some of the airway devices we use for both adult and pediatric patients. Lunch will be served.
Students will rotate through several different stations in small groups:
- Epidural/Spinal Anesthesia - Learn how to administer anesthesia via the spine
- Ultrasound - Scan for nerve and vascular anatomy and perform nerve block anesthesia
- Intubation - Practice intubating on a mannequin
- Bronchoscopy VR - Practice a bronchoscopy on a computer
- IV - Learn how to obtain intravenous access using a mannequin arm
- Pediatrics - Intubate pediatric patients using mannequins
- Cricothyroid/Trachea - Practice on trachea models how to access an emergency airway
- CPR - Learn how to perform CPR on mannequins
Open to Pathways Scholars in grades 9-12. Registration at onha.yale.edu/Anesthesia2026
